In order to complete their art merit badge for boy scouts, we needed to visit an art museum. Although there are lots of great museums in Los Angeles, we opted for a closer alternative and visited the Bakersfield Museum of Art. It's been a very long time since I was in Central Park and it's been completely redone and upgraded. Check out the pond complete with fireman doing a canal resuce training exercise.
Ray and Thomas tried to enjoy the outdoor playground but at 105 degrees outside, the fun was short lived.
While the firefighters were doing their training rescues, we took the photo opportunity with a couple of the firetrucks.
The museum of art had a Salvador Dali exhibit as well as some rather interesting ceramics and other artwork.
So, what else can you do when it's 105 degrees outside. . .who would want to be outside anyway??
