8th Grade Graduation
It actually happened. James and Ray graduated from 8th grade. It was an absolutely beautiful afternoon in California, perfect for an outside graduation.Grandma and Grandpa were there for the big event.
Uncle Gregg and Christin were also in attendance.
Here's the crew for the graduation. Congratulations James and Ray!
Boy Scout Summer Camp 2010
The boys attended the first session of summer camp at Camp Chawanakee and had a great time. They climbed the wall. . . .
did lots and lots of flag ceremonies. . . .
fished on a beautiful lake
and got to hang out with friends.
Gotta love summer camp but not the laundry afterwards!

Grandma's Turtle Quilt
A few years ago, my grandfather passed away. During the cleanout of his house, we came across these quilt squares that my grandmother had started.
She chose some interesting color combinations and I'm certain she used old clothing for scraps. Having survived the Depression she was great at making something out of nothing it seemed.
A few of the turtles were sewn with a blanket stitch around each piece so I've continued on sewing around each one until they are all sewn down.
Now I just have to find some cute fabric for the sashing and put it all together. Did I mention I really don't know how to quilt, I'm just making it up as I go along. Hopefully I'll be able to live up to Grandma's legacy and get it done.
